The Austrian chemical industry has already built up extensive knowledge and expertise in the field of green chemistry. The increased use of digital technologies has laid the foundations for future-oriented innovations. The resulting improved data situation allows optimisations based on process simulations, shows starting points for energy and resource savings and forms the basis for function-based business models.

As part of this study, survey and workshop results were evaluated in order to derive implementation paths for the vision of a circular chemical industry and to continue on the path of digital transformation.
