Project description
Digital technologies are an important driver for the circular economy.
The study shows where Austrian production stands in terms of implementing circular value creation, what contribution digital technologies can make and what the framework conditions are. An online survey serves to take stock of the situation in Austria. Expert interviews provide information on how the current situation, the challenges and trends with regard to the circular economy and digitalization are perceived and which framework conditions and fields of action are seen. An online workshop is used to analyze promising fields of application and identify research topics. Technology profiles are used to describe 15 key digital technologies in a technology catalog and classify them in terms of circular economy strategies. The developed recommendations for action support the public sector in selecting measures to expand circular production in Austria.
